SEE THE WORK. SEE THE TEAM.

A look at what KHE Solar does — installs, the fleet, real homes in Northern NJ.

Why KHE for Solar

SOLAR INSTALLED BY ACTUAL ELECTRICIANS.

Most NJ solar companies are sales operations — they sign you up, then sub the install to whoever's cheapest. We're a licensed New Jersey electrical contractor. The same team that wires warehouses and installs commercial LED retrofits puts your panels up. One company. Start to switch-on.

01
One Team, Start to Finish — Design, permits, install, electrical panel work, interconnect. You deal with KHE — never a hand-off to a subcontractor.
02
NJ Permitting Handled — We pull the permits and run the inspections. You don't chase town hall, we do.
03
PSE&G + JCP&L Trade Ally — We know the interconnection paperwork because we file it constantly. Less waiting, fewer surprises.
04
Battery + EV-Ready — Adding battery storage now or later? Routing for an EV charger? We can spec the system so future upgrades are plug-and-play.
What We Install

EVERY SOLAR JOB COVERED.

Single-family homes through commercial rooftops. New installs, panel additions, battery upgrades, and inverter replacements.

Residential Rooftop Solar

Single-family homes — design, install, permits, and interconnect. Most installs activate within weeks of contract.

Commercial Solar

Warehouses, offices, multi-tenant — large-scale rooftop arrays, with PSE&G/JCP&L interconnection handled in-house.

Battery Storage

Pair solar with battery backup so outages don't black you out. We size the battery to your usage and roof capacity.

Inverter Repair & Replacement

Old system underperforming? Inverter going? We diagnose, repair, and replace inverters from all major manufacturers.

EV-Ready Routing

Planning a Level 2 EV charger? Speccing the solar system to handle it now saves rework later. We design ahead.

Permits & Inspections

NJ municipal permitting, utility interconnection paperwork, final electrical inspection — handled by our office. You don't make a single call.

2026 NJ Solar Incentives

THE 30% FEDERAL CREDIT IS GONE. NJ'S STACK ISN'T.

The federal Residential Clean Energy Credit ended December 31, 2025. Here's what NJ homeowners can still claim in 2026 — and what each one is actually worth.

#1
SREC-II / SuSI
$85.90/MWh (EY2025-26) for 15 years. Locked at registration via NJ BPU.
#2
1:1 Net Metering
Full retail credit for every kWh exported. NJ rates: $0.23–$0.26/kWh.
#3
Sales Tax Exemption
100% exempt. Saves ~$1,660 upfront on a $25K system.
#4
Property Tax Exemption
N.J.S.A. 54:4-3.113a — 100% exempt, indefinite. $460–$690/yr typical NJ home.
#5
GSESP Battery Rebate
Garden State Energy Storage Program Phase 2 launching 2026 — residential battery rebates.
Typical 8 kW NJ Home
7–9 Year Payback. 25+ Year Lifetime.
Real math from a typical NJ install: SREC-II income + net metering credits + tax exemptions. The federal credit's gone — the NJ stack still makes solar work.

FAQ

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED.

Will solar work on my roof?
Most homes in Northern NJ are good candidates. We assess roof orientation, pitch, age, shading from trees, and panel layout during the free survey. If your roof is too shaded, too old, or wrong orientation, we'll tell you up front — no pushed sales.
Do you handle the permits?
Yes. NJ municipal permits, utility interconnection filings (PSE&G or JCP&L), and final electrical inspections are all handled by our office. You don't make calls or fill out forms.
What happens to my electric bill?
A properly sized system can offset most or all of your annual electric usage. You'll still have a utility connection (and a small fixed monthly charge), but the energy portion of your bill drops dramatically. Net metering credits your account for excess production.
How long does install take?
The physical install on a typical residential job is 1–3 days on site. Total time from contract to grid interconnect — including permitting and utility approval — usually runs 4–8 weeks depending on town and utility queue.
Can I add battery storage?
Yes. Battery storage can be installed alongside solar or added later. Batteries keep critical loads running during outages and let you store solar production for use after sundown. We'll size it to your usage during the design phase.
Will the install damage my roof?
We use code-compliant flashing and mounting hardware designed for residential roofing. Penetrations are sealed properly — the goal is zero leaks for the life of the panels. We also flag any roof condition concerns during the survey.
Is the 30% federal solar tax credit still available?
No, not for homeowner-purchased systems. The Residential Clean Energy Credit (Internal Revenue Code Section 25D) was repealed by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (Public Law 119-21), signed July 4, 2025. The credit terminated on December 31, 2025 with no step-down or transition. Systems had to reach mechanical completion by that date to qualify. There's no federal residential solar credit in 2026 for direct-purchase or financed homeowner systems. (The commercial Section 48E credit remains available through 2027 for third-party owners — lease and PPA companies — but the savings are captured by the lessor, not you.) Anyone in 2026 telling a NJ homeowner the 30% credit "is still available" for a cash purchase is misinforming you. The good news: NJ's state incentives stack independently and are fully active.
What NJ incentives can I still claim in 2026?
Five active programs for NJ homeowners: SREC-II / SuSI (NJ Board of Public Utilities ADI program — currently $85.90/MWh in EY2025-26, rising to $95.23/MWh in EY2026-27, locked at registration for 15 years; about $824/year on a typical 8 kW system), 1:1 full retail net metering (PSE&G ~$0.26/kWh, JCP&L ~$0.24/kWh — all four NJ utilities participate), 100% sales tax exemption (NJ's 6.625% sales tax doesn't apply to solar equipment), 100% property tax exemption under N.J.S.A. 54:4-3.113a — indefinite, no sunset — and the Garden State Energy Storage Program (GSESP), whose Phase 2 residential battery rebates are launching in 2026. We handle SREC-II registration as part of every install — it's not retroactive, so it has to be filed correctly at install or you lose the 15 years of payments permanently.
What's the warranty?
KHE-installed solar comes with a 30-year system warranty covering panels, inverter, and balance-of-system components, plus a 50-year warranty on roof penetrations and waterproofing for our installation work. Inverters and panels carry their own manufacturer warranties stacked on top of ours. Real coverage for the warranted life of the system.
